SRINAGAR, Aug 26: The Committee on Privileges of Legislative Council was held here today under the chairmanship of MLC, Jugal Kishore Sharma to discuss various privilege notices given by the members of Legislative Council.
Legislators, Ali Mohammad Dar, Showkat Hussain Ganie and Ghulam Nabi Monga were also present in the meeting.
The Committee discussed in detail the Privileges moved by the MLC, Ravinder Kumar Sharma against SSP, Security, Airport Srinagar for non- providing security and vehicle to him. The Committee sought detailed report from the State on the criteria of security being adopted for MLAs and MLCs.
The Members of the Committee also raised issues of security which is being provided to them and asked to improve Communication system of the security apparatus attached with them.
ADGP Security V.K. Singh briefed the Committee about the security arrangements and Protocol of Security arrangements provided to the MLA, MLC.
The Committee also discussed the issue of embezzlement in JAKFED and directed the Council Secretariat to issue privilege notice against 12 officials including MD JAKFED for not co operating with the committee.
SSP Security, Airport Srinagar, Special Secretary Cooperatives, Managing Director JAKFED, Additional Secretary, Legislative Council, besides officers and officials of Council Secretariat attended the meeting.
