JAMMU, Feb 14: Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC ) today urged the Chief Secretary (CS), J& K, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Director Education, Kashmir and Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, Jammu to publish the list along with names of all 610 migrant families whose land and properties were restored during the last five years and also urged them all to grant special leave of five days on the eve of holy Shivratri festival to PM package employees posted in Valley, falling in this month.
In this regard KPC president, Kundan Kashmiri and its senior leader Tej Pandita turned the attention of CS towards the recent statement given in Parliament by Union Minister of State for Home, Nityanand Rai that as many as 610 Kashmiri Pandits were given back their properties left behind in Kashmir following eruption of militancy there in 1990s, as per the information provided to him by the Government of J&K.
Kashmiri said since KPs residing outside the Valley have no any clue and concrete information for the same nor any list has been issued in this regard, so that they could take over and maintain their restored land and other properties.
The ground realities and inputs speaks otherwise and community is unable to get the same information individually from concerned Deputy Commissioners.
KPC urged CS to seek the list of these displaced KP families from concerned Deputy Commissioners (DMs) of Valley, whose land and property has been restored during the last five years and to be published in prominent news papers in Valley and Jammu as well and a copy of same be kept available in Relief Commissioner’s Office Jammu.
He also urged Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Director Education Kashmir to grant special leave for five days to PM package employees posted in Kashmir Valley on Maha Shivratri festival falling during this month so that they can join their families at Jammu, Delhi and other places outside the Valley to celebrate the festival. Besides, salaries of all PM package employees be released immediately who have not been paid as yet from the last two to three months.
