BUDGAM, Aug 3: A revenue employee was caught red handed by the sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 2000 in this District.
An ACB spokesperson said that a complaint was lodged against one Fayaz Ahmad Shora, Senior Assistant/Incharge Nazir, Tehsil Office Khag, for allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs 2000 for expediting the process of listing of the property case of the complainant in the court of Tehsildar concerned.
On receipt of the complaint, a case FIR number 14/2023 under section 7 PC Act 1988 was registered with Police Station ACB Srinagar and investigation taken up, he said.
During the course of investigation, he said, a trap team was constituted and the public servant was caught red handed while demanding and accepting the bribe amount of Rs 2000 from the complainant.
Further investigation is on, he said.
