JAMMU, Dec 17: A revenue department official has been arrested here today for accepting illegal graft.
Sources informed that sleuths of vigilance organisation arrested Anil Sharma, Patwari Sarora, Block Marh for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 10,000 from one Jaimal Singh.
During a trap by vigilance organisation, it was found that the Patwari had engaged private persons and some retired revenue officials in his Patwari Khana for preparing revenue abstracts, whom also vigilance team has arrested.
The arrested officials of revenue department have been lodged at Pacca Danga Police Station lockup.
The trap was laid by Wahid Giri, DySP who was assisted by Kamal Sangra, Naresh Sharma and Shakeel Ahmed-all ACB inspectors under the supervision of SSP Amit Gupta.
