Revenue officials booked for abusing official position

JAMMU, June 9: The State Vigilance Organization has booked officials of Revenue Department for fraudulently giving possession on the State land to beneficiary at village Chowadhi in Jammu
A case under Section 5(1) (d) r/w 5(2) J&K PC Act and Section 120-B, 420, 467, 468 and 471 RPC, has been registered against Rampaul, the then Naib Tehsildar Bahu, Jammu, Shabir Ahmed, the then Patwari Halqa Chowadhi, Jammu and others.
The accused Revenue officials allegedly entered into a criminal conspiracy with beneficiary Rash Paul Singh and fraudulently recorded as well as attested the mutation No. 2737/Jeem of village Chowadhi Jammu on 15.03.2010 for land measuring 560.8 sft falling in Khasra No.100 of village Chowadhi in favour of the said beneficiary, despite possessing sufficient knowledge that actually beneficiary has physical possession on State land falling under Khsara No 96 of village Chowadhi.
By acting in this manner, the aforementioned Revenue officers/officials by abuse of their official position and in active league with each other and with accused beneficiary, conferred undue benefit upon the said beneficiary thereby causing loss to the State exchequer.
