Review controversial order for particular migrants: JKSAC

POONCH, Jan 3: Jammu Kashmir Sharnarthi Action Committee (JKSAC) has urged upon the Lt Governor to review a controversial order issued in favour of a particular class of migrants and avoid to create wedge among various sections of migrants/ DPs with discriminatory attitude across the J&K.
In a meeting of DP’s of 1947 from PoK held at Poonch under the chairmanship of Tarlok Singh Tara, president District Poonch, members deliberated upon in detail about the all issues / demands concerning their long awaited final settlement. The participants urged upon the Lt Governor to provide remaining 4% quota of reservation to wards of DP’s in services and technical institutions and redesign a comprehensive a road map for their one time settlement as per the JPC Report.
Gurdev Singh, J&K president, stressed upon GC Murmu, to review the controversial order issued in favour of a particular class of migrants by substituting a paragraph in Class-III of Rule-21 of reservation rule vide SRO-321 dated May 27, 2019, wherein without ascertaining the real status of this particular class of migrants the reservation benefits have been allowed to them under the categories of backward areas, LO.C and IB. He termed this ordered as a great manipulation, totally biased and discriminatory in respect of wards of DP’s.
He urged upon Murmu to re-examine this order and the wards of DP’s would be extended the benefits of this order and 4% reservations quota be provided to wards of all DP’s of 1947 from PoK to served them justice.
He further demanded reservation for the wards of DPs, compensation for their left out properties in PoK, de-freezing of Assembly seats of DP’s share, regularization / mutation of land under DP’s dwelling and compensation for the deficiency in allotted land as per the average prevalent market rates.
Tarlok Singh Tara, Capt Ashok Sharma and Mangat Ram Sharma said that genuine and legitimate concerns of DP’s have always been disregarded by all the dispensation of erstwhile State and Centre and even the present Govt despite of providing a small sops of Rs 5.5 lakhs as relief to DP’s is looking to follow the footsteps of said previous dispensation.
