JAMMU, Dec 28: DIG Traffic Range Jammu Shakeel Ahmed Beig convened a meeting with the representatives of mini buses and auto rickshaw unions today.
It is informed that revised fare for mini-buses upto 3 Kms is Rs. 4.50, upto 5 Kms, Rs. 7.50, upto 10 Kms, Rs. 9, upto 15 Kms, Rs. 10, upto 20 Kms, Rs. 13 and beyond 20 Kms, Rs. 16.
In case of auto-rikshaws the new rates fixed for one kilometer is Rs. 16 and for subsequent kilometer it is Rs. 12.
All the Matadors/Mini-Bus representatives were directed to keep 09 seats (01-09) exclusively for the ladies and in case of buses 12 seats (01-12) should be reserved for the ladies as per the prescribed orders. They were also directed to ensure that all the drivers of passenger vehicles wear uniform from 01.01.2013 or else strict action under law will be taken against the violators.
