The organisers of the Display Your Talent contest presently underway in Jammu deserve appreciation for holding Folk Dance Contest in the University Campus.
Dogra Folk Dance is an integral part of Dogra heritage. Without it the heritage is complete. Due to impact of western dances particularly Reality shows, the folk dance is under shadow. It does not receive much attention among the new youths of Jammu.
These contests will surely go a long way in reviving interest among Dogra youth in folk dances. Otherwise, such dance forms will vanish for ever from the memory of people and their heritage.
