Revoke suspension of hapless engineers: JKEEGA, DEA

JAMMU, Mar 20: A joint meeting of J&K Electrical Engineering Graduates Association (JKEEGA) and Diploma Engineers Association (DEA) was held here today.
The meeting was chaired by Er Harvrinder Singh, President JKEEGA, Er Jagdish Singh Rathore, Convenor DEA and Er Jaipal Sharma, President DEA to discuss the circumstances that evolved following the arbitrary and illegitimate suspension of senior engineers of PDD.
While speaking, Er Harvrinder Singh said that a Superintending Engineer (SE) and Executive Engineer of PDD have been suspended by the administration without any basis and inquiry into the matter.
“Despite tough conditions, our engineers on the ground met all challenges very bravely and managed to achieve 80 per cent of the targets and that too when there was shortage of labour and funds. It is worthwhile to mention here that the topography of the Kishtwar region is such that it is very difficult to carry out works during winter months”, he stated.
He stated that the higher authorities make these two senior officers as scapegoats and it seems very shocking on behalf of higher authorities, that Government has taken such a harsh step of suspension of even a Class A officer without completion of formal enquiry being conducted or issuing any show cause notice to concerned officials.
“The work was started in the month of August and in a span of just 5 to 6 months and with limited resources, the electrification work was completed barring little works in one of the toughest villages. Now all of a sudden these officers were told to complete the works by March 2018 in a review meeting at Jammu which sounds bizarre by any stretch of imagination”, Singh informed.
The participants impressed upon the authorities and administration to shun this dictatorial attitude towards the hapless engineers. They asked the authorities to reconsider their arbitrary decision and revoke the unjust suspension immediately.
