JAMMU, Nov 30: Principal Sessions Judge Udhampur RS Jain today awarded seven years rigorous imprisonment to Rahul Sharma for rape with a minor and three years RI to Ganesh Kumar and Pawan Sharma in kidnapping of minor.
According to the prosecution case, the accused persons had kidnapped and raped 14 yrs old girl in Ramnagar tehsil of Udhampur district in the month of October 2011.
After hearing both the sides, Principal Sessions Judge observed, “for the offence under Section 363 RPC, accused Ganesh Kumar and Pawan Sharma are sentenced to undergo imprisonment for a period of three years and directed to pay fine of Rs 5000. In default of payment of fine, they shall further undergo simple imprisonment for one month”.
“The accused Rahul Sharma is sentenced under Section 363 RPC and he shall undergo imprisonment for a period of three years and for the offence under Section 376 RPC, he is sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of seven years”, the court said, adding both the sentences shall run concurrently.
