Rice basmati rises on stockists buying

NEW DELHI, Nov 2:  Rice basmati prices rose by Rs 200 per quintal on the wholesale grains market today on increased buying by stockists against restricted arrivals from producing regions.

Maize and barley also moved up on increased demand from consuming industries.

Traders said increased buying by stockists against limited arrivals from producing regions mainly led to rise in rice basmati prices.

In the national capital,rice basmati common and Pusa-1121 variety rose by Rs 200 each to Rs 7,900-8,000 and Rs 7,600- 8,100 per quintal, respectively.

Maize and barley also went up by Rs 20 each to Rs 1,410- 1,415 and Rs 1,150-1,155 per quintal, respectively.

Wheat MP (deshi) 2,070-2,270, Wheat dara (for mills) 1,625-1,630, Chakki atta (delivery) 1,630-1,635 Atta Rajdhani (10 kg) 220, Shakti bhog (10 kg) 220, Roller flour mill 880-900 (50 kg), Maida 950-970 (50 kg) and Sooji 1,025-1,040 (50kg).

Basmati rice (Lal Quila) 10,400, Shri Lal Mahal 10,000, Super Basmati Rice, 9,500, Basmati common new 7,900-8,000, Rice Pusa-(1121) new 7,600-8,100, Permal raw 2,150-2,200, Permal wand 2,300-2,400, Sela 3,225-3,275 and Rice IR-8- 1,900-1,925, Bajra 1,180-1,190, Jowar yellow 1,425-1,475, white 2,325-2,525, Maize 1,410-1,415, Barley 1,150-1,155, Rajasthan 1,080-1,090.
