Rice basmati spurts on increased buying

NEW DELHI, July 20:  Rice basmati prices spurted on the wholesale grains market today on increased buying by stockists.
Traders said increased buying by stockists mainly pushed up rice basmati prices.
In the national capital, rice basmati common and Pusa 1121 variety climbed to Rs 7,800-7,900 and Rs 8,000-8,200 from previous levels of Rs 7,600-7,700 and Rs 7,600-7,900 per quintal respectively. Non basmati rice sela also moved up to Rs 3,500-3,550 per quintal.
The following were today’s quotations per quintal:
Wheat MP (deshi) 2,050-2,250, Wheat dara (for mills) 1,595-1,600, Chakki atta (delivery) 1,600-1,605 Atta Rajdhani (10 kg) 220, Shakti bhog (10 kg) 220, Roller flour mill 860-890 (50 kg), Maida 930-950 (50 kg) and Sooji 1010-1,040 (50kg).
Basmati rice (Lal Quila) 10,400, Shri Lal Mahal 10,000, Super Basmati Rice, 9,500, Basmati common new 7,800-7,900, Rice Pusa-(1121) new 8,000-8,200, Permal raw 2,250-2,300, Permal wand 2,400-2,500, Sela 3,500-3,550 and Rice IR-8- 1,900-1,950, Bajra 1,350-1,360, Jowar yellow 1,600-1,650, white 2,400-2,650, Maize 1,350-1,355, Barley 1,250-1,255, Rajasthan 1,080-1,090.
