JAMMU, Dec 6: Rich tributes were paid by the Department of Agriculture Jammu to Bawa Jitto – a legendary farmer in an impressive function organized by Agriculture Drivers Union and All J&K Agriculture Employees Association and staff of the Directorate of Agriculture Jammu at Krishi Bhawan today.
The programme was organized to remember Bawa Jitto’s sacrifice for his rights and justice.
Speaking on the occasion, Director Agriculture Jammu, Ajay Khajuria lauded the honesty, innocence, humility, courage and truthfulness of Bawa Jitto. Recalling his sacrifice for the farming community, he said “we all should take inspiration from his life and contribute for the betterment of our farming community and society as a whole”. He added that Bawa Jitto will always be remembered as a messenger of honesty and truthfulness.
