Addressing the BJP activists here at Janipur today before flagging off of the Gandhi Sankalap Yatra on the occasion of 150th birth anniversary of the Father of Nation, Madhav said that rights of people of Jammu and Kashmir will be fully safeguarded under the new arrangement and they will not face any problem with regard to their land , property and services.
Madhav said all steps will be taken for the betterment of the people of the State and Narendra Modi Government is committed to it. He said the main objective behind the abrogation of the Articles 370-35 A was also the same that people of the State irrespective of their caste, creed and colour should progress equally along with other States of the country.
He said with the abrogation of controversial Articles, a new chapter has been written in the history of J&K now and it will be the chapter of peace and prosperity for the people.
Maintaining that Narendra Modi is running the Government on massive mandate of the people of the country, he said it is the commitment of his Government to take all three regions of erstwhile J&K State progressed in the field of Gramin (village) industry by treading on the path of non violence and truth, the basic principles of Mahatma.
Madhav asserted that abrogation of Article 370 facilitated full integration of J&K with rest of India and with this decision Narendra Modi Government fulfilled a long drawn dream of the people of this country and BJP.
He said the BJP has given many sacrifices for the abrogation of the controversial Articles and total integration of J and K with Indian Union and the struggle was launched by founder president of Jana Sangh, Dr Shayama Prashad Mookherjee in 1952. He laid down his life for this great cause and his dream was fulfilled after 70 years by Narendra Modi, he added.
He said under the new arrangement the deprived people of the State like SCs, STs and others will get all benefits of democracy and Government schemes and policies. “Now no one will face any discrimination under the new arrangement”, he added.
“We all have to work together for unity and development of the State”, Madahv said, adding that under new arrangement every section of society irrespective of their caste, religion and region will be taken together and they will enjoy the fruits of total freedom now. We want that last man in the queue should reap the fruits of democracy in J and K”.
The BJP leader said those who were taken into preventive detention will be released soon. “The Government is not concerned only for the liberty of 200 leaders of the State but entire population of J&K”, he added while referring to detention of some political leaders in the J&K after the abrogation of Article 370.
Without giving any time frame, he, however, said that the Statehood will be restored to J&K at an appropriate time. “Union Home Minister, Amit Shah has announced this himself on the this floor of Parliament”, he said, adding the UT status is a temporary phase and decision on restoration of Statehood will be taken by Home Ministry at an appropriate time.
Madhav said “entire J&K not only its land but its people are ours”, adding “every Kashmiri belongs to India and we will tell the countrymen to embrace every Kashmiri by open arms in such a way that they should feel not only Kashmir but entire India belongs to them”.
He said Indian people should now visit Kashmir and enjoy holidays there. He appealed people of India to plan their holidays in Kashmir in future by visiting holy shrines of Swami Amarnath Ji and Mata Vaishno Devi Ji.
He said taking the State forward on path of truth and non violence and maintaining its unity can be best tribute to Mahatma Gandhi.
Later replying to questions of media persons on the reports about the involvement of brother of a former Congress Minister in militancy, Madhav said two BJP leaders were assassinated in Kishtwar and some people were arrested by police in this connection. Police is probing the matter now and it should be given free hand, he added.
In response to another question that why only political leaders of Jammu were released and not of Kashmir, he said whatever administration feels appropriate they will do that keeping in mind the security situation. He said it is not the question of Jammu or Kashmir but of the security situation and whatever administration will see feasible while keeping the situation in view they will do that.
Later Madhav also visited border villages of Marh along with State president, Ravinder Raina, vice president, Narayan Singh, BJP spokesman, Abhinav Sharma, Arvind Gupta, former Minister Sham Lal Sharma, Omi Khajuria, Sukhjit Singh and Baba Chanchal Singh. He met with BSF officials and villagers in the border belt. He listened to their demands particularly the difficulties faced by them during shelling from across the border. He assured them that their grievances will be redressed by constructing more bunkers.
Later, he addressed a function at Marh where number of Sarpanhes and Panches joined BJP under the leadership of Abhinav Sharma.
Sharma also apprised him of the problems of farmers whose land has come under ring road and who were not paid the full compensation till date.
