Sir,
This refers to article titled “Ring road projects in limbo” by Dr Raja Muzaffar Bhat (Daily Excelsior 7.12.19).
I am of the view that affected land owners must be fairly compensated as Jammu Kashmir has a very meager land holding (0.52 hectares only )
The farmers affected by Ring Road projects in Jammu and Kashmir have not been fairly compensated and ironically three years have passed and they continue to suffer. Not even 50 percent of the road project has been completed in Jammu and in Kashmir. The company which was allotted the contract left the work in middle as Govt failed to acquire land at an earliest.
I hope these issues are addressed at the earliest by compensating the farmers fairly under Fair Compensation Law 2013 which is now extended to Jammu and Kashmir as well from October 31st 2019
