JAMMU, Sept 13: Founding Chairperson of FICCI FLO Jammu Kashmir & Ladakh (JKL) Chapter Ritu Singh met with Chairperson National Commission of Women (NCW) Rekha Sharma in Jammu and apprised her of the various activities being carried out by the JKL chapter.
Ritu Singh apprised the NCW Chairperson of the commitment of the Chapter for promotion of women entrepreneurs across the UT. They had a wonderful exchange of ideas on the subject.
Rekha Sharma expressed her willingness to offer full support of NCW for the well being and upliftment of women across the UT. She also expressed her desire to collectively work with FICCI FLO JKL in giving support and strength to women who want to stand on their own feet and being financially independent.
On the occasion, Ritu Singh gifted the NCW Chairperson a Tricolour made from Khadi by destitute women. She informed Sharma that she love Khadi and wants to give wings to this project which would also augur towards the revival of use of Khadi.
Meanwhile, under Vrikshavan initiative, Ritu Singh along with a few members carried out a Nutritious plantation (Poshan) drive at the Amphalla Jail. The purpose of the visit was to plant fruit and vegetable bearing plants along with medicinal plants within the jail premises and enlighten the female inmates of their nutrition benefits.
