JAMMU, Nov 29: Commissioner Secretary, Labour & Employment Department, Kifayat Rizvi convened a meeting to review the functioning of J&K Employees Provident Fund Organization (JKEPFO) here today.
Director Finance Labour & Employment Rajesh Talwar, Additional Provident Fund Commissioner Jammu Atam Dev Singh, Deputy Secretary Labour & Employment Ashok Kumar, Deputy Provident Fund Commissioner Central Ehsan-ul-Haq, Chief Accounts Officer Dr. Anjum Farah, Assistant Provident Fund Commissioners and Inspectors of Jammu division were present in the meeting.
Commissioner Secretary was briefed about the activities and performance of the department besides apprised about the implementation of Provident Fund scheme in the State.
Rizvi took a detailed review of performance of J&K Employees Provident Fund Organization of each district office and held threadbare discussions on vital issues including number of establishments covered under J&K EPF Act -1961 in each district of Jammu division, final/Refund claims received/settled in this financial year upto 31 October 2017, total live membership, inspections conducted, Prosecutions launched, number of convictions, recovery proceeding against defaulters, detail of sanctioned staff strength, etc.
It was informed that 274 new units have been covered under J&K EPF in the financial year 2017-18 as on 31 October.
While reviewing performance under final/refund claims received/settled in this financial year upto 31 October 2017, Rizvi directed the concerned officers to clear maximum pending cases regarding withdrawal of Provident Fund by December.
Rizvi called upon officials to facilitate early disposal of long-pending cases so as to serve the cause of justice and bring relief to those affected by the delay in disposal of such cases.
