JAMMU, June 9: Jammu Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAAC) and Radio Kashmir Jammu organized multilingual Kahani Goshthi under the title `Stree Shakti’, here today.
Speaking on the occasion, chief guest MLC Rani Billowria appreciated the participating female short story writers, who presented their short stories very successfully and highlighted the problems of women folk being faced even in this developed and modern era besides boosting awareness amongst the women about their rights and respect on the whole.
Dr Champa Sharma, a renowned Dogri writer, said that the female writers of Jammu region have contributed a lot for the overall development of language, literature and society through their writings which is well received by the readers and critics of the respective languages.
Earlier welcoming the gathering, V K Sambyal, Director Radio Kashmir Jammu hoped that RKJ and JKAACL initiatives in promoting literary activities will have overwhelming response.
Those who read out their Short Stories, included Sudesh Raj and Nirmal Vikram (Dogri), Yogita Yadav, (Hindi), Surinder Neer, (Punjabi), Zafar Kholehar from Rajouri (Urdu) and Nikhat Choudhary from Poonch (Gojri).
Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages presented vote of thanks while the proceedings of the programme were conducted by Anita Mehta.
