JAMMU, July 10: J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages in collaboration Radio Kashmir Jammu, organized a Dogri Kahani Goshthi at the Government College for Women, Parade Jammu.
Those who read out their short stories, included Om Goswami (Cancer), Desh Bandhu Dogra Nutan (Sukhi Maanu), Shiv Dev Singh Susheel (Rishtey) , Chhatter Pal(Kaash Mein Kutta Honda) and Raj Rahi (Namey Tunnel) .
Prof Shashi Pathania, former HoD, PGD of Dogri and renowned Dogri writer, scholar and critic, presided over the function while Mohan Singh, eminent Dogri Playwright, artist, poet and critic was the chief guest. V k Sambyal, Station Director RKJ, was also present on the occasion.
Delivering her presidential addressed, Dr Shashi Pathania said that short-stories presented were at par with the modern short stories being written in the other Indian languages. The stories very successfully portrayed the various social issues of their respective regions representing various cultures and sections of the society, she added and complimented all the short story writers who presented their short stories in this Ghoshthi.
Mohan Singh applauded the role of Radio Kashmir, Jammu and J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages for organizing such a successful short story session in Dogri language. He appreciated the short stories of Raj Rahi and Shiv Dev Singh Susheel and said that these young short story writers in Dogri introduced new trends and techniques in the field of Dogri short story.
Earlier delivering welcome address, Ravi Magotra, Coordinator, Radio Kashmir, Jammu, said that such cultural and literary activities have invited overwhelming response from the general public and world of litterateurs.
Proceedings of the programmes were conducted by Promila Manhas while vote of thanks was presented by Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages.
