RKJ organizes `Bal Mela’

JAMMU, Nov 12:  In connection with Public Service Broadcasting Day and upcoming Chidren’s Day, the Radio Kashmir Jammu organized a mega `Bal Mela’ in the Station premises, here today.
Around 350 students from fifteen schools in Jammu, participated in the day-long event while colourful items, quiz, painting competition, Display Your Talent and debates etc marked the occasion.
In the `Bal Goshti’, the participating children opened their hearts and sought to portray their vision for the nation while speaking on the theme `Yadi Main Pradhan Mantri Hota’.
The participating students, many of whom had their first experience to the nuance of Public Service Boarding, were surprised and enthralled at listening to the rare archival speeches of Mahatama Gandhi and Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru. A patriotic group song competition was final presentation of the show. About 70 children participated in Display Your Talent, which was aimed to encourage performance only and not the achievement.
There were no winners  as all events were of non-competitive nature.
However, mementoes and certificates of participation were given away to all the participants.
Earlier, the programme started with lighting of traditional lamp.
In his opening remarks, the Programme Head Ravi Magotra threw light on importance of the day.  The event was co-ordinated by Incharge of Children Programme, Radio Kashmir Jammu, Nitish Arora. Stage presentation was conducted by Madhvi Sharma and Sunita Bhagat.
