RKJ organizes science seminar

JAMMU, Nov 6: Radio Kashmir Jammu in collaboration with University of Jammu, organized a science seminar, here today at JU.
The programme was scheduled in the backdrop of the World Science Day on November 10, 2015.
Entitled, “Scientific Indian” in English and “Vaigyanik Bharatiya” in Hindi, the seminar had top speakers from various fields of science. Prof Rajni Dingra,  Dean Sciences JU, Prof K K Kapoor from PG Deptt of Chemistry, Dr Anil Kumar from Indian System of Medicine, Prof  Rajnikant from PG Deptt of Physics and Dr Satish Gupta , Scientist from SKAUST, presented their views to the invited audience that included people and students from all walks of life.
JU Vice Chancellor, Prof R D Sharma, who was chief guest on the occasion, expressed satisfaction for having collaborated with Radio Kashmir Jammu for the seminar and stressed upon the fact that nothing is possible without having a scientific reason and temperament behind it.
V K Sambyal, Station Director RKJ, threw light on the role played by All India Radio in inculcating the scientific spirit among the general masses in the past six decades. He also quoted references from Ramayana and Mahabharta to highlight the fact that the scientific spirit among the Indians is not only deep rooted but also age old.
All India Radio has an inherent objective of inculcating Scientific temper and promoting Scientific awareness amongst fellow citizens of the nation. Radio Kashmir Jammu organized this seminar to meet this novel objective as a public service broadcaster, especially at a time when the potential of science and technology has been well established in addressing a number of issues and aspects confronting the lives of the people at large.
Programme Executive, Sanjeev Sharma, co-ordinated the event while Madhvi Sharma anchored the programme.
