JAMMU, May 30: A class-IV employee (khalasi) of Northern Railway hailing from Amritsar was found murdered today with his throat slit near Datta Talab area, falling under the jurisdiction of Bari-Brahmana police station.
As per police sources, a Class IV employees (Khalasi) of Northern Railway namely Bandeshwar Singh, son of Laxmi Dass of Railway Colony, Amritsar along with his colleague Amar Chand arrived here in a truck loaded with laundry material of Northern Railway at a washing mill in Bari-Brahmana yesterday afternoon.
Last evening, Bandeshwar Singh went outside the factory and when he did not turn back till late night, his colleague started searching him.
The throat slit body of Bandeshwar was spotted by a passerby today morning near Datta Talab, Bari-Brahmana, who informed the police.
On getting information, police team from Bari-Brahmana police station headed by DySP Bari Brahmana Shehzad Salaria and SHO Shiv Dev Singh Jamwal rushed to the spot and shifted the body to mortuary of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where postmortem will be conducted tomorrow in presence of deceased’s family members.
The colleague of the deceased along with driver and conductor of the truck namely Suraj and Dharminder, both resident of Kanpur were detained for questioning.
A murder case in this regard has been registered at Bari-Brahmana police station and further investigation into the case is going on.
