Rlys realizes fine of Rs 1.6 lakh from travellers without ticket

JAMMU, May 6: Railway authorities have realized a fine of more than Rs 1.5 lakh from the passengers travelling without ticket in the trains originating and terminating from Jammu-Katra region.
This was informed by Uchit Singhal, Station Director cum DTM Jammu region, who said that the Railways has achieved encouraging results on drive against unauthorized vending and ticketless travelling in the last few days. For the purpose, special teams have been made under guidance and supervision of Commercial Inspectors of this section and surprise and random checks are being made in the trains.
“As a result of this drive, the cases of unauthorised vending have decreased to almost zero while 232 cases of unauthorised travelling without proper Ticket were detected and a fine of Rs 1.6 lakhs was realized by the Railways.,” said Uchit Singhal, adding that more such drives are in the offing for the safety and security of the bonafide railway passengers.
