POONCH, Nov 13: Returning Officer Mendhar, Romesh Kumar (SDM), Mendhar issued notice to Congress candidate for allegedly violating election code and conduct.
An official spokesman said that Murtaza Khan from Congress along with a large number of supporters with drum beaters arrived at RO’s office for filing nomination papers at Mendhar today. A large number of his supporters breaking security ring barged into the office and over a dozen also accompanied him to the office of RO which are not allowed normally. The Returning Officer and his staff had to intervene and asked candidate to obey the code and conduct and ask his excess number of supporters to remain away from the office complex. Taking cognizance of the matter, the RO later issued notice to the Congress candidate.
