Road connectivity bound to bring prosperity in rural areas: Ajay Nanda

REASI: Minister of State for Finance and Planning, Ajay Nanda today said that road connectivity is bound to bring prosperity and fast pace development in rural areas.

The Minister was addressing a public gathering after kick starting the work of   15.4 km Kotla-Chinar Sangar road in Pouni Tehsil, here today. The PMGSY road is estimated to be completed at an estimated cost of 10.85 crore.

“This road would connect several hamlets of Tehsil Pouni and benefit hundreds of students and Anganwadi centers and individual households,” the Minister said and added that every village of Pouni would be connected by roads in coming days.

“Improvement of road connectivity will greatly help in reaching out to the people in inaccessible areas” the Minister said and added that roads open way for availing other essential services in an easy manner and help in enhancing agriculture incomes and generate employment.

The Minister was accompanied by Tehsildar Pouni Rajesh Baru, Executive Engineers PMGSY, PDD and PHE and other officials of various departments.

Later, the Minister visited various work sites in Pouni areas and passed instructions to the officers for time bound completion of these projects.

On the way, he met with local people at various locations and took feedback from them on the availability of essential services like water, power, ration etc.

Meanwhile, the Minister held public grievances camp at Teyot and listened to the problems and issues of the locals. He redressed several grievances on the spot and passed instructions to the officers for solving other problems.

He impressed upon the people to keep in touch with him and   for resolving issues of immediate. He reiterated the commitment of government for mitigating problems of people and said the government does not leave any issues unattended and unresolved.
