Starts road work worth Rs 6.28 cr in Marh

JAMMU, Nov 16: DDC Chairman Jammu, Bharat Bhushan Bodhi today said that providing road connectivity to rural and far flung areas of the Union Territory is the priority of the Central Government and for this many schemes are in place.
He was speaking during the kick starting of a road construction project at Marh constituency of Jammu. He inaugurated the work on the road stretch between Gajansoo to Chargali in Marh constituency having road length of 4.5 km with an estimated cost of Rs 6.28 crore under 3rd phase of PMGSY. DDC Member, Balbir Kumar and senior BJP leader and former Minister, Sukhnandan Choudhary also accompanied the DDC Chairman.
Addressing a gathering, the DDC Chairman congratulated the people of Marh constituency for the long pending work on the road having been finally in progress now. He said that road connectivity is the hall mark of development in any part of the world and forms an inseparable part of the Prime Minister’s agenda of overall development across the nation. He said that all efforts will be made to improve roads not only in Marh constituency but in areas across the entire Jammu district.
Bharat Bhushan said that an effective road network is imperative for development of all other sectors including tourism and the Government is committed to provide roads in rural and far flung areas. He said that besides roads, providing uninterrupted electricity and regular water supply, education and health care to the people is also the priority of the Government and for doing all this, the Centre has been providing an endless stream of funds.
The DDC Chairman asserted “We are working with the agenda of holistic development, besides putting in concerted efforts to meet the developmental aspirations of the people”. He asserted that the overall development is on the priority list of the BJP Government with special focus on the remote and far flung areas of which road connectivity is an essential part. He appealed to the people of Marh constituency to strengthen the hands of PM Modi for further development of the area in the ensuing Assembly elections in the Union Territory.
