DODA, Aug 18: Minister for PWD (R&B) and Mechanical Engineering Abdul Majid Wani, who is on an extensive visit of the district Doda, on his second day visited Gundna Block and addressed series of public meetings at Parvati, Dhara, Chanta, Malwana and Gundna.
While addressing the gatherings, Mr. Wani said that road connectivity to hilly, far flung and rural areas is the prime requirement for their growth and development. He said most of the population living in hilly areas of the district has been connected with road connectivity and the work on various road projects is going on at pace. He said road connectivity acts as an indicator of development and help in both social and economic upliftment of the people.
Mr. Wani said that peace and prosperity enables the Government to focus on the developmental activities and carry on the infrastructure developmental projects in a time bound manner and added that Coalition Government has taken each and every step to maintain peace and tranquillity besides carried forward the developmental activities smoothly across the state irrespective of caste, color, region or religion.
He enjoined upon the officers to make every effort so that benefit of various schemes reaches down to the targeted population. He also highlighted the achievements made by the Coalition Government, adding that by creating new administrative units, much awaited demand of the people has been fulfilled. Minister termed it an historic step which will serve as a mile stone in the holistic development of the State.
He also inspected the ongoing road construction works and passed onspot instructions to the concerned executing agencies to expedite the pace of work and ensure qualitative works on ground.
Executive Engineer PWD (R&B) Division Doda Madan Lal, Executive Engineer PHE Division Doda and Chief Education Officer Doda besides District Agriculture Officer (Extension) Doda M.A Beig, Agriculture Extension Officer, Prem Nagar Rashpal Singh and other senior officer accompanied the Minister during the tour.
