Srinagar, July 28: Two persons were killed in two separate road mishaps in Baramulla and Shopian districts of Valley, police said today.
A police spokesman said that a Sumo vehicle bearing registration number JK05C/8213 hit a pedestrian namely Ghulam Rasool Parray at Saidpora village of Uri, resulting in his on-spot death. The body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites and a case has been registered in this regard, the police said.
In Shopian district, a Maruti car bearing registration number JK22-0756 rammed into Walnut tree near Kachdoora, resulting in injuries to its driver Rameez Raja. He was shifted to District Hospital Shopian for treatment where doctors declared him brought dead, the police spokesman said, adding, a case has been registered in this regard.
