KATHUA, Oct 4: As the holy Navratra festival is coming near, the road connecting to Mata Joranwali and Sitla Mata is in worse condition and it is very difficult to drive a vehicle or walk on foot on this road.
The link road from Gadodi to Kot has been washed away some time back due to heavy rainfall and land sliding. The road is also connected to five Panchayats through Banjal. There is heavy rush of devotees visiting to Mata Joran Wali, Mata Dolanwali and Mata Sitla temples where people come for Darshan during Navratras every year.
In such circumstances when road is in worse condition, it is difficult for devotees to pay obeisance in the temple after walking miles on muddy and stony road.
The PWD has started the repairing of the road few days back but it was only eyewash said Joginder Singh a local resident.
He said that the road is not maintained as per requirement and movement of pilgrims.  He asked the Executive Engineer, PWD to take the immediate steps in renovation of the road for the safety of pilgrims of Sitla Mata who may not face any problem while visiting the holy shrine.
