RAJOURI, July 2: The members of Thannamandi Development Forum, including Haji Maqbool Raina, Shamim Ahmed Mughal, Abdul Hamid Dar, Zahoor Sambyal Zahoor Ahmed Bhatti and Raju Mirza today brought attention to the deteriorating condition of roads within the Municipal limits of Thannamandi.
Addressing a press conference here today, the Forum members emphasized the severe impact of this on local transportation, with numerous vehicles suffering damage due to the poor road conditions.
They said the main road in question is crucial as it connects Rajouri with the Mughal Road and the other one to the famous shrine of Shahdara Sharief. Despite their importance, these roads have been neglected, and the local administration has remained unresponsive to the issue.
“The bad condition of roads within the Municipal limits of Thannamandi is a significant concern,” stated Haji Maqbool Raina. “Vehicles are getting damaged daily, and yet no action has been taken to address this issue.”
Shamim Ahmed Mughal echoed these sentiments, pointing out that the administration’s silence on this matter is unacceptable. “The lack of attention towards such a vital infrastructure is disappointing. We urge the authorities to take immediate steps to improve the road conditions,” he added.
“We appeal to the Deputy Commissioners of Poonch and Rajouri to prioritize providing better road connectivity for the people. It is crucial for the safety and convenience of the residents and visitors alike,” they said.
They declared that if the administration fails to act, the members of the Thannamandi Development Forum will personally contribute to repairing the roads within the Municipal limits of Thannamandi. “We are committed to the welfare of our community, and we will take matters into our own hands if necessary,” they cautioned.
Zahoor Ahmed Bhatti told that Administration has totally failed as the road is in bad condition and despite lapse of due time, the work on road not completed as yet.
The Forum called upon the local administration to respond promptly to this urgent issue and take the necessary actions to ensure safe and efficient road connectivity.
