Robbery case cracked, four held

JAMMU, Jan 23: In a significant breakthrough, Police in Sarwal area here have successfully solved a robbery case, leading to the apprehension of four suspects.
The incident, reported on December 17, last year, involved a complaint filed by Mushtaq Hussain from Surankot, Poonch, detailing a harrowing experience in Jammu.
Hussain reported that on December 16, 2023, he was invited to a residence in Sarwal area by a woman, namely Shamim Akhtar, whom he had met in the area.
However, upon reaching the location, he was ambushed by 3 to 4 men who assaulted him, filmed him in a compromising position, and proceeded to rob him.
The perpetrators stole his wallet, car keys, and even his uniform, threatening his life if he didn’t comply with their demands for seven lakh rupees.
On this, an FIR (No 179) was registered at Police Station Bakshinagar, citing offenses Under Sections 342, 323, 392, 504, 506, and 34 of the IPC, along with 4/25 of the Arms Act.
The relentless efforts of special police teams, led by the SHO Bakshi Nagar, utilized CCTV footage to identify and apprehend the four individuals involved in the crime.
Police have launched further investigation into the crime as more arrests are expected in the case.
