JAMMU, Mar 17: An ROC (drilling machine) operator died while a labourer suffered injuries after they were hit by a rock at Dhadi Sazzar area of Doda District today.
A senior police officer said around 5 pm today, a huge boulder hit an ROC operator Mohammad Irfan Butt (24) son of Abdul Majeed Butt of Bharthi Gandoh, Bhallesa, District Doda and labourer Satish Kumar (30) son of Krishan Chand of Kusara, Prem Nagar, Doda, while they were drilling a rock.
“While the ROC operator died on-the-spot the labourer suffered injuries,” said the police officer.
According to him, the injured labourer has been shifted to Sub-District-Hospital (SDH) Atholi for treatment.
