JAMMU, Oct 13: District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Jammu organized Role Play Activity and Folk Song Competition under National Adolescent Education Programme sponsored by the J&K State Board of School Education, Jammu at Government Girls High School, Gandhi Nagar here.
The participating schools were from the 10 zones of district Jammu. The themes for the Role Play activity were healthy relationship among adolescent, charms and challenges of adolescence, HIV/AIDS stigmatization and causes and impact of drug abuse.
The themes for the folk song/dance competition were equal opportunities for boys and girls/removal of female feticide, respect and care for elders, protection of environment, drug abuse, charms and challenges of adolescents.
In role play activity the winners of 1st prize were GHS Pull Tawi, second prize was bagged by GHS Gura Brahmana Bhalwal and third prize was taken by GGHSS Miran Sahib. In folk song/dance activity competition, the first position was bagged by Govt HSS Bhalwal, second position was won by GHS Gandhi Nagar and third place by GHS Badiyal Qazi, RS Pura.
During the programme viewers interacted about the themes and came to the conclusion that such type of programmes are very essential as these create a great impact on the minds of adolescence.
The activities were organized under the guidance of Principal DIET Jammu Mangal Dev and managed by Darshana Kudiyar HOD, DIET Jammu and assisted by Radha Kumari and Ummi Hanee, Lecturers DIET Jammu.
In the end vote of thanks was presented by Dr Yasir Hamid Sirwal, Project Officer NAEP JD.
