Rotary Club holds winter clothes distribution camp

JAMMU, Oct 16: Rotary Club of Jammu City organised a mega Winter Clothes Distribution Camp here, today to provide warm clothes to migrant labourers at the labourer hutments near Marble Market, Trikuta Nagar Extension and Gangyal Industrial Estate.
The clothes had been brought by all the members of the Club and they included clothes for men, women and children. Warm blankets were also distributed among the residents of the hutments of migrant labourers. Dr. Sahul Lerra, Dr. Nidhi Khajuria, Dr. Bhavneet Kour and members of the fraternity of Dental Surgeons of Jammu contributed a large number of clothes for distribution among the needy people of the society.
Speaking on the occasion, Sachin Gupta, Assistant Governor R. I. District 3070, who was the chief guest on the occasion, lauded the humanitarian efforts of the Club and said that such initiatives at the grassroots level go a long way in helping the people who need support from the society.
Dr. Sahul Lerra, Project Director for the Winter Clothes Distribution Camp, said that it was the endeavour of the Club to bring some solace to the people living in the migrant hutments.
Rtn Anil Swaraj, President, Rotary Club of Jammu City, emphasised the need to reach out to the marginalised sections of the society.
Past president of Rotary Club, Adeep Mehta, Sanjay Bansal, Sandeep Beri and Arun Ninawat enthusiastically participated in the Camp.
