JAMMU, Dec 7: Rotary Club Jammu Baahu formed and sponsored Interact Club of Jammu Baahu at Naveen Shiksha Kendra (NSK) High School at Channi Himmat.
The School is being run by Savera, a non-Government organization (NGO). The Rotary Club Jammu Baahu also donated 50 chairs to the School. The gift is part of an ongoing support that Rotary Club Jammu Baahu has been extending to the School which is imparting quality education to children who come from an underprivileged background. The installation was carried out by Dr Dushyant Choudhary, District Governor for Rotary District 3070.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Dushyant Choudhary said it is a great initiative to start an Interact Club in a school in which majority of students come from an underprivileged background. This would instill leadership qualities among these students and mould them as future leaders, he said. He promised to provide a Water Cooler to the School soon.
Sourabh Sethi (president of Rotary Club Jammu Baahu) acknowledged good services of the management of the school towards the cause of imparting quality education to children from an underprivileged background. He assured the office bearers of the newly formed Interact Club of Jammu Baahu that each member of the parent club would be at their beck and call in case of any need or guidance.
PC Kapoor, president of Savera, that runs the School, was also present on the occasion. Other members of Rotary Club Jammu Baahu present on the occasion included Adeep Mehta, Sandeep Beri (secretary) and Deepak Sethi.
