JAMMU, Sept 8: Rotary Club Jammu under the presidentship of Dr Anil K Amla organized eye donation awareness lecture.
The Project Director of the project was Sunil Kumar Sawhney.
On the eve on International Eye Donation Awareness Week, the Rotary Club of Jammu organised a lecture on the subject.
Prominent and senior most Ophthalmologist Dr Subhash Gupta was the chief guest on the occasion.
While delivering lecture, Dr Gupta shared his experiences with the gathering and regarding eye donation and requested all the Jammunities to come forward for donating their eyes after death as Eye Bank has been established in GMC Jammu.
Dr Gaurav Vaid, Dr Abhishek Sachdeva and Dr Sanjay Sachdeva also shared their experiences in the field.
Project Director requested Dr Subhash Gupta to use his good office and contacts to get them the list of cornea blinds in the State so that their surgeries may be possible and they may also see the beautiful world. He informed the gathering that the Rotary Club Jammu has pledged to eradicate cornea blindness from J&K and they are working on it. Door to Door campaign will be started soon, he informed.
Among others present were Dr Anil Amla, Prem Shanker, Ravi Kant Sharma, Dr Navneet Gupta, Aman Sharma, Deepak Baboo, Rajat Singh, Kuldip Singh, Sat Pal Verma, Abhishek Sachdeva and Sunil Kumar Sawhney.
