JAMMU, May 11: Rotary Club Jammu Elite in collaboration with Rotary Club of Jammu City, organized ‘Meri Udaan Award of Excellence’ and book release function.
On the occasion, ‘Robroo’- a bilingual poetry anthology by Evince pub Publishing was released by Gurvinder Kour, president of Rotary Club of Jammu Elite; Kulbhushan Magotra, president Rotary Club of Jammu City; Sanjeev Vaid and Adeep Mehta, Assistant governors of Rotary Club of Jammu District; Nupur Sandhi and Dr Amrish Kohli, poets of the anthology.
Nupur Sandu, a playwright who lives to write about the burning issues in modern society, is the author of three books and 18 real life stories. Dr Amrish Kohli is a multilingual poet and passionate photographer.
The recipients of Meri Udaan Award of Excellence were Nupur Sandu, Romalo Ram (Dogra folk singer and dancer), Muktaishee Sharma (singer), Dr Amrish Sarup Kohli (poet and writer) Devinder Koul Madaan ( animal right activist) Sars Bharti (Dogra folk dancer), Saloni Sabarwal (poetry), Tejinder Kour and Usha Jain.
The programme started with welcome address by Manish Kohli, followed by presidential address of Gurvinder Kour. Among those present on the occasion, included Santosh Gupta (president IWC Jammu), Paramjeet Kour, Ritika Mahajan, Archana Sharma and Sangeeta Puri.
