UDHAMPUR, Mar 2: In its continuous strive to provide accessible world-class eye cares services, KLSM Rotary Hospital restored the vision of a 14 year old girl named Preeti Devi, resident of Upper Bali, Udhampur. Preeti a class 7th student lost her vision in LE when her eye suffered trauma while she was playing with her brother. The father of Preeti is a daily wager and couldn’t afford the cost of treatment, so he opted for treatment through an Ayushman Card. Registering patients on the Ayushman Portal through Biometric authentication is mandatory, but Preeti couldn’t register for treatment due to biometric authentication failure which happens for many patients from rural areas.
As she was teenager and in case of traumatic cataracts, timely treatment is crucial for vision restoration, so the hospital decided to gift free-of-cost treatment i.e., PHACO Cataract Surgery to Preeti to save her vision.
Doctors of Rotary Hospital, Udhampur explained that some injuries in the eye may lead to traumatic cataracts or other eye problems which may pose a threat to vision. So it is very important to undergo an immediate eye checkup if there is some trauma or injury in the eye, as timely treatment can prevent vision loss in most cases.
Preeti’s vision was restored after surgery and she was very happy with her new sight. She was also hopeful as her exams are near and she wants to excel in her studies, good vision will definitely assist her in achieving her vision.
Dwarka Nath Sharma, Chairman of the Hospital said that any person coming to the hospital will get treatment irrespective of their capacity to pay. He emphasized that the mission of Rotary is to restore vision and make life better for people who are living in darkness due to ignorance or lack of money.
