SRINAGAR, Oct 9: MLC, Ajatshatru Singh, today visited Royal Samadhi and took stock of the pace of ongoing developmental works there.
Mr. Singh was accompanied by MLC, Vijay Bakya.
On the occasion, the MLC said that a project to develop the surrounding areas of Royal Samadhies as a rich Heritage Park has been taken up with State Government. He said there is a proposal to construct a Rest House and Sarai also to accommodate the tourists and other visitors also. He said that project cost would be more than six crore rupees.
The MLC said that the project has been sent to State Government for taking the matter with Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. He said that the efforts are on to get renovated and repaired other temples of the Valley which are presently in a dilapidated condition and in this connection, in first phase, Rs10 crore have been spent on the renovation of Mata Keer Bhawani temple, Srinagar. He said in second phase, the renovation and repair work of the Gupt Ganga, Ishbar Temple Nishat would be taken up.
Earlier, Mr. Singh along with Mr. Bakaya paid obeisance at Shiv Temple and offered prayers.
Mr. Singh also paid visit to Shri Shiv Ji Temple Rainawari and took stock of the construction and renovation work of the temple. He was informed that so far Rs 20 lakh has been spent on the construction of two barracks and repairs of the temple.
Mr Singh was accompanied with President J&K Dharamarth Trust R. S. Jamwal and other trust officials also.
