RPFC attends awareness camp at Chenab Textile Mill

JAMMU, Dec 24: Regional Provident Fund Commissioner (RPFC)-I, Rizwan Uddin at Regional Office J&K and Ladakh attended awareness camps at Chenab Textile Mill and Amrit ETT College Hatli Morh, Kathua regarding implementation of EPF and MP Act, 1952 and e-nomination.
Sood and Parveen Tyagi from Chenab Textile Mill participated in the programme. The employers and employees in the camp raised grievances.
Assistant Labour Commissioner Kathua, Brijnesh Kumari also addressed and appeal workers to come forward and enroll themselves with schemes like EPF, e-nomination etc for organized worker, e-SHRAM for unorganized workers and PM-SYM for unorganized workers and avail the benefits.
Ashfaq Mohd, representative and president of Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh Union Kathua was also present.
Rizwan Uddin, RPFC-I focused on Pension Scheme, EPS-95 and Employees’ Deposit Linked Insurance (EDLI) and answered questions by employees on EPS and EDLI scheme.
On employee becoming disabled or dies on work, the RPFC-I explained that in case of disablement the member may get disablement pension and in case of death while in service, family/nominee gets widow pension lifelong and two children may also get pension till the age of 25 years.
He informed that EDLI has been made mandatory for all account holders.
“Under this scheme, if the main account holder dies from a natural cause or accident or illness, then the nominee gets an amount of Rs 7 lakh,” he informed adding that the minimum assurance benefit is Rs. 2.5 lakh if deceased member was in continuous employment for 12 months prior to death.
