JAMMU, Dec 22: Range Police Headquarters, Jammu, on Thursday orchestrated a drug awareness campaign at JDA Park Qasim Nagar, Jammu, as part of the Civic Action Programme under the command of DIG Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range, Jammu, Shakti Kumar Pathak.
The event aimed to foster a drug-free community and was attended by students from Government High School Qasim Nagar, civil society members, and the general public from the surrounding area.
The program commenced with a warm welcome for Chief Guest Rajinder Singh Katoch, SO to DIG Jammu, and Guest of Honour Rajeev Singh Charak, Bahu Fort Development Committee, and Udhay Bains, Executive Member Youth Congress.
Chief Guest Rajinder Singh Katoch emphasized the importance of organizing such programs across the jurisdiction of each Police Station in Jammu, Samba, and Kathua Districts.
He urged students to not only focus on studies but also actively participate in sports, cultural activities, and to steer clear of drugs and negative influences.
During the program, Usha Kiran, Pawan Verma, and Abdul Qadir from Dogri Sanstha, Jammu, presented a Dogri Mushaira addressing the impact of drugs.
Dr Gurpreet Kour, Assistant Professor at Parade College, Jammu, delivered a compelling speech on drugs, with a particular focus on synthetic drugs, earning appreciation from the audience.
Rajeev Charak from Bahu Fort Development Committee and Sham Lal Bhajan, along with Bhawanya Bhagat from Jammu University, also delivered speeches shedding light on the harmful effects of drugs.
