RRC (M) briefs political representatives about arrangements made for migrant voters

JAMMU, Apr 3: A meeting with the representatives of various political parties was today convened by Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner (RRC) Migrants, Dr. Arvind Karwani here to brief them about the Lok Sabha Elections-2024 and the arrangements made by the Relief Organization for the facilitation of the Kashmiri migrant voters.
The representatives of political parties raised demand for the simplification of process of M-forms and conveyed that due to multiple formalities a large number of voters are getting discouraged.
A patient hearing was given to the party representatives and several grievances highlighted by them were also taken note of.
The representatives also raised issues of public importance. It was conveyed to them that in this regard a schedule of special weekly camp has already been notified for facilitation of the public and on spot redressal of their grievances, in terms of which Deputy Commissioner (R) Vijay Kumar will visit every Wednesday the Jagti Camp, Assistant Commissioner (R) Ritika Arora will visit every Thursday Muthi Camp, Assistant Commissioner (R) Dr. Riyaz Ahmed will visit every Friday to Nagrota Camp and Assistant Commissioner (R) Sanjeev Kumar Goswami will visit Purkhoo Camp to redress the grievances of migrants at their doorstep. Besides, the officers will randomly check two zones every week.
It was also highlighted in the meeting that all the officers have already been directed to dispose off the pending matters in a time-bound manner and it was appealed to Kashmiri migrants to apply for the requisite certificates well before in time to avoid last minute rush.
Dr. Karwani appealed all migrant voters to come out in large numbers to cast their vote and also explained the Special Scheme under which 21 Special Polling Stations have been set up at Jammu, 1 in Udhampur and 4 in Delhi for the facilitation of Kashmiri Migrant Voters.
