Rs 1.94 cr annual plan approved under SGSY

RAMBAN, Aug 22: An annual plan of Rs 194.30 lakh under SGSY Capital and DRDA Administration of  District Rural Development Agency Ramban was approved at the 5th meeting of the Governing Body of DRDA Ramban held under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner Ramban Shabir Ahmed Bhat here today.
The meeting was attended by Project Director DRDA Ramban Inderjeet Singh, Project Officer DRDA Ramban Bharat Singh Manhas, all District Officers, representatives of banks, NGOs, nominated members of ST/SC and Block Development Officers of the district.
The ADDC who, is also the member secretary of the Governing Body presented brief resume of DRDA and SGSY schemes.
The chairman DRDA in his brief address said that the performance in individual cases is good but in respect of SHGs it  is poor. He said that more efforts need to be put in by both the sponsoring agency and bank authorities to increase the level of performance with respect to SHGs.
During the meeting, the targets and achievements under SGSY for the year 2011-2012 were discussed and reviewed. During the financial year 2011-12, the total availability was Rs 62.45 lakh against which Rs 57.86 lakh have been spent on different components of the scheme. On physical side under subsidy component for individual/SHGs against the target of 316 cases, 278 cases have been sanctioned and disbursed.
The annual draft plan under SGSY capital and DRDA Administration for the year 2012-13 was also discussed and approved. Under SGSY Capital, current year’s allocation is Rs 116.50 lakh including Rs 44.35 lakh as unspent balance of the previous year.
