KATHUA, May 28: Rupees thirteen thousand fine was imposed on the people who were found moving without mask thereby violating the COVID pandemic guidelines here today.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kathua RC Kotwal, 26 persons were found moving without wearing face masks and Rs 13,000 as fine was imposed on them.
SSP stated that they are getting good response from the people in breaking the chain of COVID-19 pandemic.
He added that the policemen standing on the ground are facilitating the movement of the health workers, people in need of health services and other essential purposes.
As COVID positive cases continue to rise, all members of the public are advised to avoid unnecessary travel, visit only local and nearby shops for essentials and medicines, use masks and sanitizers and avoid crowds.
SSP RC Kotwal also sought the cooperation of the general public with the health workers and police so as to have an effective and efficient response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
