Rs 15.32 cr worth BADP Action Plan for Leh formulated

LEH, Feb 27: District Level Committee headed by Deputy Commissioner Avny Lavasa has formulated Rs 15.32 crore worth Annual Action Plan of Border Area Development Programme (BADP) for 2019-20 financial year.
The core objective of BADP is to develop villages situated along Indo-Pak and Indo-China borders with special focus on important sectors like education, health, PHE, handicrafts, handlooms, power, forest, rural development and road and bridges.
It was told in the meeting that Rs 4.88 crore have been earmarked for Indo-Pak BADP scheme which covers the border villages of Khaltsi and Nubra sub-divisions whereas Rs 10.44 crore have been allocated for Indo-China border covering the border villages of Durbuk and Nyoma sub divisions of Changthang.
After going through each and every scheme, DC stressed the need of completion of important nature of ongoing schemes rather than taking small schemes in hand. She urged upon the implementing agencies for completion of works within the time frame by ensuring quality.
Avny Lavasa also laid stress on completion of all BADP works by strictly following the guidelines.
The Councillors of border areas also attended the meeting and gave inputs to make the BADP more result-oriented for the people living along the border. HoDs of concerned department also attended the meeting.
