SRINAGAR, Oct 19: An amount of Rs 16.43 crore has been released for the up-gradation of judicial infrastructure in the State.
This information was given at a high level meeting convened under the chairmanship of Minister for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Law, Justice & Parliamentary Affairs, Ali Mohammad Sagar here today.
Advocate General, J&K High Court, M.I. Qadri, Commissioner Secretary, Law, G.H. Tantary, Registrar General, J&K High Court, Suresh Kumar, Director Judicial Academy, Abdul Wahid, MD, JKPCC, M M Gupta, Chief Engineer, R&B, Kashmir, Mushtaq Lone, Superintendent Engineer, Mechanical Division, Shafat Chisti, Special Secretary, Law, Irshad Ahmed and other senior officers were present on the occasion.
The Minister asked the executing agencies to speed up the construction work so that the projects under taken by them are completed within shortest possible time, so that the people living in the State get the necessary Legal Aid as early as possible, besides the pendency of the cases can also be dealt by strengthening the judicial infrastructure.
Mr. Sagar directed the officers to work in close synergy to ensure the bottlenecks if any are removed and work is executed on war footing as the funds have already been released for up gradation of judicial infrastructure in the State.
The meeting was told that the District Court Complex at Moomnabad, Srinagar would be completed by June 2013, Lawyers Chambers at Srinagar by next year, the Administrative Block for the office of Advocate General at Srinagar High Court and Judicial Academy at Moomnabad, Srinagar besides, the Sub-Judge Court at Baramulla by November this year.
