Rs 17 cr distributed among flood victims

Baramulla, Mar 15 :District Development Commissioner Baramulla, Yasha Mudgal today distributed relief cheques amounting to a total of Rs. 30.3 lakh among traders affected by 2014-floods at Dak-Bungalow Baramulla.
The cheques were distributed among 71 traders whose business turnover is that of between Rs 5-10 lakh. The amount of relief provided to traders was in accordance with the assessment of losses.
Meanwhile, the DDC also informed that under Prime Minister’s Development Programme, relief has also been distributed directly into the Bank accounts of 2014-flood affected families. As such, 17 Crore rupees were distributed today among 1249 families, whose residential houses were damaged during the 2014-floods.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Bashir Ahmad Khan, Assistant Commissioner Revenue and other officers were also present during the function.
