Rs 2 lakh looted from J&K Bank

Srinagar, Mar 24: Armed robbers today looted Rs 2 lakh cash from J&K Bank Branch in Budgam district.
An official said that gunmen entered the extension branch of JK Bank at Chandapora in the Central Kashmir district around the afternoon and fired some shots to scare off the staff.
Later, the officials said, the robbers looted Rs 2 lakh cash besides one 12-bore rifle from the bank guard namely Abdul Rashid Sofi of Sanoor Kalipora.
The police have registered a case in this regard and investigations have been taken up.
Notably, on March 16, armed robbers had looted Rs 3.5 lakh from a Grameen Bank branch at Panzinara Srinagar and before that, on March 12, a Grameen Bank branch at Kunzer Tangmarg in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district was robbed off Rs 2.24 lakh.
