Rs 21,700 fine realized from traders

SRINAGAR, Oct 29: The enforcement squad headed by Assistant Director Consumer Affairs & Public Distribution Kashmir conducted market inspections in the city and booked erring traders for violating Essential Commodities Act, 1955.
The markets of Bohlajipora, Ishber, Malbagh, Soura, Khanyar, Brane, Karan Nagar, Saidapora, 90 Feet Soura, Buchpora, Ahmad Nagar, Zakura, Hazratbal etc. were inspected.
During the drive, 123 business establishments were inspected and Rs. 21,700 were recovered as fine from 20 erring shopkeepers for violation of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955.
