KATHUA, Oct 30: In a bid to thwart violation of traffic norms, Motor Vehicles Department, Kathua under Dr. Raj Kumar Thapa, Regional Transport Officer, imposed fine to the tune of Rs. 4.10 lakh under different provisions of Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.
The checking of vehicles continued during the last night on different locations including a naka on National Highway. Different categories of vehicles including vehicles entering the State from Lakhanpur were checked. A total of 215 vehicles were checked out of which 128 vehicles were imposed fine totalling Rs. 4.10 lakh.
The checking team comprised Kuldeep Singh, ARTO, Vikas Srivats, MVI, Kamal Kumar, MVI, Ravinder Kumar, MVI and other officials of RTO Office Kathua.
